THE EGG DRAWINGS

The question arises, "Why do I draw eggs?"

Simply, I love the motion of drawing that oval shape.
I also love making an image seem to be 3-dimensional,
appearing to be sculpted out of a 2-dimensional surface.
The egg shape seems to lend itself well to making this happen.

The egg is the central subject in each composition.
Eggs are both strong in structure
as well as vulnerable to outside influences.
Each precious one is either enfolded and kept safe,
or set in an environment that appears to be precarious.
Each egg has it's own internal mystery.
As I continued to explore egg themes,
it became important to know what each shell held inside.
The creative journey for me is to find out what mystery each possesses.

The drawings are lovely--and interestingly varied, suggesting infinite possibilities.
I like the egg as the ground or prototype, the source
--and here an endless source for creative generation.
I look forward to seeing more.

The egg used for the thumbnail is one of my favorites.
The crack in it reminds me of the the woman in the cracked mud photograph.
The one with the leaf is cool too.

Awesome website!
This must have been a lot of work. Your drawings are beautiful.
I like the tilted egg one especially.
It looks like you are having fun; drawing is so satisfying:)

The egg drawings look great!
I think I like "Fruition" the best - I love the colors together.
I have a Christmas card egg . from you that I put out every year.

We just reviewed your web page and the drawings of your eggs.
You know that we have always loved them.
The christmas egg stands on our entertainment center in the living room.

I enjoyed looking at all of your egg drawings.
I thought the colors in Egg Enfolded I and II were particularly beautiful,
in fact very very lovely.
